The launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is going to be scrutinized in many ways. The title, and the license in general, is at the heart of a commercial and media battle between Sony and Microsoft.
Call of Duty MW2: a launch that is being organized and a license at the heart of a communication war
The first seeks to block the acquisition of Activision Blizzard in particular because of Call of Dutythe other denies it and thinks that we exaggerate the importance of the license. Very recently, Microsoft indicated that Sony would have blocked the arrival of Call of Duty games in the Game Pass, by signing an agreement with Activision. A way to respond directly to Sony, who thinks that Microsoft risks making the license an Xbox exclusivity. By disclosing these documents, Microsoft hopes to bend the organizations responsible for validating or not the takeover, by showing that it is Sony that has anti-competitive practices.
