In the new behind the scenes video on God of War Ragnarok recently published by Sony also reports an interesting background on the possibility that the game could actually be divided into two partsmaking the Norse saga a trilogy, but the idea was later discarded.
This is not the first time we hear about this idea, but in this case it is better explained by the developers how the matter was handled.
In the behind-the-scenes video dedicated to history and narration released yesterday for God of War Ragnarok, the lead writer Rich Gaubery explains that the story to be told was still very large and the contents would be so many that it could fill two games.
“There were pros and cons to each of the two approaches,” Gaubery said, referring to the idea of releasing two more games or just one. “We waited for that Cory Barlog had his say, and so he did. He simply said we do everything in two chapters. ”In this way, instead of a trilogy, the Nordic saga of God of War will be presented in just two chapters.
This also explains the big dimensions of God of War Ragnarok, which seem confirmed by the first unofficial information on its duration, truly remarkable and practically double compared to the previous chapter. On the other hand, in Barlog’s vision this was not the case with spread the saga over too many yearsfor both users and developers.
The video behind the scenes in question, among other things, is the first of a series of 9 videos that will be published in this period of approaching the launch of God of War Ragnarok, set for November 9, 2022, which will tell various aspects of the game development.
