If you are using Google TV at home and you are the parent of a young child, know that this platform will become even more child-friendly. like the Google announced in a new post on its blog, it is currently launching three new features that further improve the profiles of the youngest.
Google TV will become much more child-friendly
In fact, the news is many and important. This is because they look out for our children’s safety while guaranteeing many hours of entertainment.
Add movies or shows to lists
Let’s start with the first novelty. If you see a movie or program that your child wants, you can now save it in a special list for parents that will later appear on the children’s profile. All you need to do is click on the movie and choose the list where you want to place it.
Recommendations from Google
With this new feature, Google will now recommend popular movies and series directly on the main screen of your child’s profile. The recommendations are, of course, based on the applications added and the classification definitions already defined. There is now also a new “hide” button that allows you to hide a title from popular movies or popular TV shows lists in case you don’t want your child to see it. To hide a movie or a show, simply press and hold the Select button on the remote control and choose “hide”.
YouTube is a platform where you can watch fun videos as well as clips that can help you learn something new. However, due to the wide variety of content, you may want to restrict access to some channels. Now pre-teens can watch YouTube with their Google TV kids profile. However, we as parents will have access to parental content settings, which will allow us to adjust things like what features the child can use, as well as blocking channels that we don’t want them to see.
All of this can be done from the YouTube mobile app, which is definitely good news.
