After presenting an SUV, a sedan and a bus last year, the Taiwanese firm Foxconn unveils two new models of electric cars. These will not be marketed under its name, however, and the company hopes to be able to manufacture them for Tesla.
Whereas the electric car market is growing at breakneck speed, many new players want to try their luck in turn. Because in addition to the traditional car manufacturers, other sectors are also interested in this universe. And in particular that of tech, while several companies like Xiaomi or Sony also want to get started.
This is also the case with Foxconn, a Taiwanese company known in particular for designing products for large companies such as Samsung, Nintendo or Huawei, but also for make apple iphones in its factories. Last year, the firm unveiled three models, namely an SUV, a sedan and a bus, on the occasion of the Hon Hai Tech Day 2021 event.
Today, it is unveiling two new electric models, a crossover and a pick-up called Model B and Model V.
Model B
The arrival of this compact crossover is not really a surprise, as Foxconn had already unveiled some images and information about it a few days ago. Positioning itself in the Renault Mégane E-Tech and other Volkswagen ID.3 segment, this Model B takes over the MIH platform of the Model C, a slightly larger electric SUV, rival of the Tesla Model Y.

Taking advantage of clean lines, designed by the Italian studio Pininfarina, it then displays a Cd of 0.26 which is still far from that of the Mercedes EQS, at only 0.20.
If no image of the interior has yet been shown, it should be rather spacious, while the press release from the brand announces a wheelbase of 2.8 meters. The electric SUV, on the other hand, gives almost no technical information. Foxconn simply announces a range of 450 kilometers, without specifying the certification cycle used.
For now, no partner has been mentioned for the marketing of this Model B, while the Taiwanese company does not sell any of its models in its own name. In this regard, the boss of the company hopes to one day be able to supply electric cars to Tesla, as he mentioned during this event.
Foxconn Model C
The Model C, seen above, will go into production in a few months, with first deliveries to Taiwan in the second half of 2023.
Model V
But this is not the only novelty made official by Foxconn, which also lifts the veil on an unprecedented 100% electric pick-up. It should then compete with the Ford F-150 Lightning, the Tesla Cybertruck or the Rivian R1T. The latter completes an already extensive range but the firm again gives very few details about it.
We only know that it displays a payload of one ton and that it can tow up to three tons. It can accommodate up to five occupants and is equipped with camera mirrors.

Again, this newcomer will be sold under another name, while the Model C unveiled last year, for example, has become the Luxgen N7, as part of a partnership between Foxconn and the Taiwanese firm Yulon Group. The pick-up will be assembled in its native country, but also in Thailand as well as in the United States. Its official launch date is not yet known.
Nothing has been said about a possible arrival in Europe, but it is not impossible that a manufacturer will use this platform to offer an electric pickup on the Old Continent.
The Chinese firm Foxconn has just unveiled the design of its new electric car. It is an electric SUV called Model B, which will be sold in China and the United States.
