Gotham Knights brings back the superheroes of the DC Comics are PC, PlayStation 5 e Xbox Series X/Swith an adventure starring Robin, Batgirl, Red Hood and Nightwing in defense of the city of Gotham from increasingly rampant criminal activities.
Considering the title chosen and the context in which it is set, it is practically automatic to approach the game developed by WB Games Montreal to the Batman Arkham series developed by Rocksteady between 2009 and 2015 (and with a prequel, Batman Arkham Origins, made by the same authors of Gotham Knights). The adventure starring Robin and his vigilante companions is therefore to be understood as a sequel to Batman Arkham Knight or not?
The answer is no: while taking up some premises of the Batman Arkham Knight epilogue, Gotham Knights is not his successor and, in fact, it is in no way related to the Rocksteady series. The story told in the game is independent of the facts told in the titles starring Batman and will see the new group of heroes emerge as Gotham City’s new protectors following the death of Batman (hence why there is no Batman in Gotham Knights).
