PS5, Xbox Series X|S e Nintendo Switch they all did a remarkable record leap forward by 41% in terms of console sales in September 2022 in the UKaccording to GfK data that was reported by GamesIndustry.biz.

Although the video game market continues to decline, in terms of absolute numbers, compared to the corresponding periods of the previous year, September 2022 saw a significant increase in sales especially of the new consoles, namely PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, demonstrating a new trend given by a greater availability of units.

However, the increase is also recorded in terms of games sold as regards the comparison with August, so from one month to the next there has been a notable growth, while the decrease can be seen by comparing the months with those from the previous year.

In any case, it is clear that the trend is growing with regard to the specific PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, which demonstrates an excellent trend for the affirmation of the new generation.

As was already unveiled yesterday, PS5 is the best-selling console in the United Kingdom in September 2022, while in second position was placed Xbox Series X | S, with Nintendo Switch in third position. In total, 176,000 consoles were sold during the month in the UK: PS5 saw a 9% increase compared to August, while Xbox Series X | S increased by 104% thanks to a considerable wave of consoles available, we imagine especially with regard to Series X, the most difficult to find on the market.

Nintendo Switch also saw a significant 44% increase, also driven by the release of Splatoon 3. Overall, the 41% increase compared to August demonstrates the positive trend, however for now the total sales for the year 2022 they are still 35.5% lower than those recorded in 2021 in the UK over the same period, as far as console hardware is concerned.
