News Resident Evil Village game no longer works on PC, Capcom speaks
Published on 10/19/2022 at 12:40
Whoops. Resident Village, released in 2021, has just welcomed a brand new update on PC. The problem is that this one simply breaks the game on Steam and it is therefore panic for many players who thought of interfering quietly in the horrific universe of Capcom…
False start
Although it was released in 2021, many players are still discovering or exploring Resident Evil Village and especially on PC: for its part, Capcom today issued a small update, a priori innocent… but that actually brings a big problem. In effect, the update has just broken the game for Steam users and many of them admit that they can no longer launch the adventure.
After a few moments, the application simply starts to crash and the game is therefore… unplayable. A rather annoying shame, so don’t be surprised if this happens to you. Fortunately, Capcom is not ignoring the problem (it wouldn’t really be in his interest) and just made a little statement.
A shot soon corrected
It is therefore on Twitter that the Osaka firm commented on the situation: yes, she is aware of the fact and yes, she is working on the problem.
To all Resident Evil Village players on Steam: We are aware of an ongoing issue with the latest patch that is causing the game to crash for some users. We are currently researching a solution and apologize for any inconvenience caused!
However, no release date for the patch has been advanced. So if you were planning to see Lady Dimitrescu this afternoon, you’ll have to be patient.
By the way, remember that a Resident Evil Showcase will take place tomorrow evening, to learn more about Resident Evil Village Gold Edition (and its expansion or third-person view) as well as the highly anticipated Resident Evil 4 Remake. The appointment is made.
