For a few hours now, we only hear about Silent Hill. With good reason, since the saga would finally be ready to make a resounding return after years and years of silence. Moreover, after the first rumors indicating the arrival of a new Silent Hill 2, now we know more about what will be announced this evening.
Silent Hill 2 Remake on track?
It’s been years, either since the cancellation of Silent Hills by Hideo Kojima, that we hear everything and anything regarding the probable return of the Silent Hill saga, but this time it seems that it’s the right one: in just a few hours, either tonight from 11 p.m. French time, Konami will finally announce the future of the saga. And if we are to believe the recent leaks, left by Konami himself, we can expect this future to be simply the remake of Silent Hill 2.
In order to confirm this hypothesis, an anonymous source contacted WhatIfGaming and revealed new crisp information which, of course, are to be taken with gigantic tweezers. In other words, tonight, there is indeed a good chance that we will have the right to the announcement of this Silent Hill 2 Remake.
Bloober Team behind this new project?
According to the anonymous source, Silent Hill 2 Remake will actually be developed by Bloober Team, which would amount to confirming rumors that have been circulating for a long time now. For those who don’t know, Bloober Team is the team behind many horror games, starting with the Layers of Fear saga or The Medium, a title that was inspired a lot by the famous Konami franchise. Still according to the source, the studio would be supported by two thinking heads from the original games, we named Masahiro Itō, the artistic director of the saga, but also Akira Yamaoka, the Sound Director of the franchise.
That’s not all, and even if we expected it, it seems that this remake of Silent Hill 2 would offer a third-person view that is very similar to what we had in those of Resident Evil 2 and 3. That is, static shots disappear in favor of a hand-held camera.
A PlayStation 5 exclusive?
But ultimately, one of the biggest surprises of this intervention from the anonymous source is this last announcement: Silent Hill 2 Remake would be released on PC and will be a temporary console exclusive of the PlayStation 5 for a total duration of one year, a bit like Deathloop. Everything would obviously be worthy of the next-gen.
Again, all this information is not to be taken literally, since nothing has been confirmed by Konami. In any case, we will have the heart net soon enough, since the reveal will take place this evening, at 11 p.m., French hours.
