It looks like the Silent Hill 2 remake will be officially unveiled tonight. As the insider “Okami Games” reports, the remake is being created by the Polish developers from Bloober Team, as has already been speculated, and will be available exclusively for the PlayStation 5 for a period of one year.
As Konami announced a few days ago, a live stream will take place this Wednesday evening at 11 p.m., in which the future of the “Silent Hill” series will be discussed in detail.
It is speculated that Konami will use the event, among other things, to present new projects based on the legendary horror series. The rumor mill was fueled by the video’s meta tags, in which terms such as “Silent Hill: Ascension”, “Silent Hill: Transmission” or “Silent Hill 2” can be found.
As we remember: In the past, rumors about a possible reboot of the series, a remake of “Silent Hill 2” and adventures based on the “Silent Hill” brand have repeatedly been circulating. As the insider “Okami Games” reports, a remake of “Silent Hill 2” will indeed be presented tonight.
A remake penned by Bloober Team?
According to “Okami Games”, the remake of “Silent Hill 2” is being developed by the Polish developer Bloober Team, which has been dealing with horror adventures such as the “Layers of Fear” series, “Blair Witch” or “The Medium” made a name. The insider went on to say that the remake will be played from the over-the-shoulder perspective and will have “real next-gen graphics”.
Longtime fans of the horror series can also look forward to a comeback from the two “Silent Hill” icons Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka. Okami Games did not comment on the rumors that the remake of “Silent Hill 2” will have completely new endings and revised puzzles.
