A few hours before the Konami live stream, which will revolve around the future of Silent Hill, a leak on the Internet has already revealed new details of one of the upcoming announcements. Konami wants to present several projects as part of a broadcast on YouTube at 11 p.m. One of the highlights is the remake of Silent Hill 2, about which there have been some rumors until recently. A Report by WhatIfGaming now provides more details about the game, which we will obviously see later.
Silent Hill 2 Remake becomes PS5 exclusive!
The leak says, among other things, that those responsible at Sony have grabbed the exclusive rights to the remake of Silent Hill 2. The new horror game will only be available on PS5 and PC for at least a year. Owners of an Xbox Series X/S will be left empty-handed for the time being. The graphics of the new edition are also particularly praised. We are talking about “real next-gen” here. The first screenshots from the supposed project appeared a month ago – but the resolution of these images was very poor.
Bloober Team is working on the remake
The partnership between Konami and the development studio Bloober Team, which has existed since June 2021, seems to produce the first joint game with Silent Hill 2 Remake. For some time now, the makers of titles like Layers of Fear or The Medium have been associated with the new edition. Also joining the remake are Silent Hill veterans Masahiro Ito and Akira Yamaoka, who worked on the original in 1999.
