Also Silent Hill: Ascension is among the innovations announced during Konami’s Silent Hill Transmission, in this case a project that is part of the transmedia division of the company: it is in fact a sort of interactive TV seriesproduced in collaboration by various well-known companies in the film and television fields.
This is a project carried out by Genvid, Bad Robot Games (videogame section of JJ Abrams’ company), Behavior and DJ2 Entertainment and will start in 2023, still without a precise release date. It seems to be a sort of meeting between TV series, video game and entertainment product with social grafts, since it involves the presence of an audience capable of influencing the development of the action.
There seems to be some sort of multiplayer component, considering that during the short teaser trailer you read “Face your trauma together”, which appears after the image of a towering and creepy figure on the screen. Silent Hill: Ascension is directed by Jacob Navok, CEO of Genvid, who therefore seems to have a coordinating role between the various companies involved.
The title is presented as “a new experience” of Silent Hill, insisting that it is something “live”, which requires the group participation of the public. Navok, during the presentation, particularly insisted on the interaction of the public and on the fact that the choices have important consequences on the unfolding of the story: “the decisions are final and there is no key return”.
Also note a presentation and support message from JJ Abrams, as well as Chris Amaral’s presentation of Bad Robot. The latter explained how the series is mainly focused on the fact that the creatures present are manifestations of fears and the darker sides of people.
