Surprisingly and without warning, Konami has finally put an end to years of rumors and indiscretions, announcing a Silent Hill themed event, scheduled for the evening of Wednesday 19 October 2022.
A few hours before the appointment, which should start at 23:00 o’clock, however, a certain mystery remains around the direct license plate Konami. The Japanese company has not in fact offered precise indications related to the channels that will host the Silent Hill Transmission. The official Silent Hill Twitter account is silent on the matter, and so are Konami’s social channels. A circumstance on which – through the Tweet you find below – Geoff Keighley also wonderswell-known personality of the videogame world and organizer / host of The Game Awards.
On the horizon, however, it has made its appearance a rather suspicious YouTube channel. Baptized SILENT HILL (Official), the latter has activated a preview linked to Silent Hill Transmission, with an appointment with the live broadcast set precisely for 22:50 tonight. The canal – dated September 29, 2022 – attracted the growing attention of the public over the last few hours, but different elements leave one puzzled and generate the feeling that it can simply be an artfully created fake:
As already highlighted, at the moment there has been no communication from Konami regarding the transmission platform of Silent Hill Transmission: if there is a dedicated YouTube channel, why not mention it? Furthermore, the channel in question is not even mentioned on the official Silent Hill website, which instead contains links to Twitter, Facebook and Line accounts; In the description of the video dedicated to the live broadcast, we can find a link to an unspecified “Sweet Factory – Souvenir Shop”, indicated as soon to be opened; The same description of the video initially featured references to Silent Hil 2, Silent Hill and Silent Hill: Ascension in the open tags, as well as an empty space reserved for a link to the PlayStation Store. All this, as you can see below, was quickly removed; At the moment, ultimately, we invite you to wait for more precise communications through official sources. The fog does not seem to be ready to rise yet.
