The Russian electronics retail chain DNS has announced the start of accepting pre-orders for the Steam Deck portable game console. It is indicated that sales of the gaming system will begin on October 24th.
So far, only a model with 64 GB of permanent memory has appeared in the assortment of the store. Its price was 79,999 rubles. The store does not indicate how many consoles will be available for sale. Apparently, the company organized deliveries under the parallel import mechanism.
Valve estimates the Steam Deck with 64 GB of memory at $399 (about 25 thousand rubles at the current exchange rate). The 512 GB model costs $649. At the same time, the console was previously sold in Russia. In particular, you can find offers on Ozon and Yandex.Market, but at a price they are more expensive than they will be in the DNS.
Recall, Steam Deck is equipped with a 7-inch IPS touch screen with a resolution of 1280 × 800 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:10. The set-top box is based on a custom AMD processor based on the Zen 2 architecture with four cores and a frequency of 3500 MHz. It includes a built-in graphics core based on the RNDA 2 architecture. The set-top box’s RAM is 16 GB. The console also includes one 3.5mm audio output, one USB Type-C, as well as a microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC memory card reader. The Steam Deck battery is designed for 8 hours of battery life. The console has a gyroscope, stereo speakers, a light sensor and runs on the SteamOS 3.0 operating system.
The Russian DNS network also announced the opening of pre-orders for the Oculus Quest 2 virtual reality headset, equipped with 128 GB of permanent memory. The store priced the device with 128 GB of memory at 39,999 rubles. Oculus Quest 2 will be available on October 23rd.
This standalone device is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 processor and 6 GB of RAM. The equipment includes two displays with a resolution of 1832 × 1920 pixels for each eye. In addition, there is a built-in audio system with 3D cinematic positional sound technology.
