Well, not all, but only its basic part. And that doesn’t change much.
Last night, Electronic Arts and Maxis announced they are working on the next installment in The Sims series of life simulations. There are no clear details of the project yet, since it is at a very early stage of development, and its release is not a matter of the next few years, but, nevertheless, the announcement took place. In parallel with the announcement of work on a new part of the series, representatives from EA and Maxis announced that The Sims 4 has switched to a shareware distribution model.
This means that from now on, the basic version of The Sims 4 will be free to play, however, all additional content released for the project over the past eight years will have to be purchased separately. Considering how important content additions are to The Sims 4, in general, this decision by EA and Maxis can only be called strange: the basic version of The Sims 4 is frankly poor in content.

But in any case, this is a positive development for the game, since the next part of the series will be released only in a few more years, and attracting additional audience to the fourth numbered part is always the right approach.
