This Tuesday, October 18th, marks the 30th anniversary of Vodafone Portugal. It was the October 18, 1992 that the then Telecel inaugurated its service to the public. From the beginning, it was customer-oriented and would change the telecommunications market in Portugal.
“Since that day, successive technological innovations, the competitiveness of its services and the close and trusting relationship with its Customers have revolutionized the lives of the Portuguese and the country’s business fabric”, says the company in a statement. Now these 30 years of stories are told in two projects: one videocast it is a documentary.
Vodafone Portugal CEOs together in an unprecedented conversation in the “Moving Fast” videocast
The videocast brings together the founder and first CEO, Antonio Carrapatoso, António Coimbracurrently Chairman of Vodafone Spain and still Mario VazExecutive Chairman of Vodafone Portugal for a decade.
They recall the history of the company they helped to build, in the episode of “Moving Fast” published this Tuesday. All members, from the Telecel team, share moments (some of them unusual) lived over these 30 years and reflect on the role of telecommunications operators in the future. Vodafone premieres documentary miniseries
Entitled “30 Anos Vodafone” it is a five-episode documentary miniseries that tells how the country’s history intersects with that of Vodafone and what can be expected of the future. The first episode came out on Tuesday and portrays Portugal in the 90s, when Telecel was born.
You will be able to watch these episodes in full, with six minutes each, on Vodafone’s digital channels and in shorter versions on television, on SIC. You can expect first-person stories, which reflect the impact of the emergence of the mobile network service, the main moments and changes of the last 30 years. The first episode can be seen below.
