The launch of Uncharted Legacy of Thieves happened today on PC represented a turning point in the history of Naughty Dog, since it allowed the Californian dogs to introduce themselves to a new audience of gamers. Still, PC users haven’t hidden a feeling of incompleteness: where are the top 3 games?
The Legacy of Thieves collection includes Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and its stand-alone expansion, Uncharted: Legacy. The first three chapters of the series are therefore missing, originally launched on PS3 and then also arrived on PS4 in a single remastered package known as Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.
Why did Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection not arrive on PC? The same guys from Naughty Dog explained it in the official post that accompanied the launch on PC of The Legacy of Thieves: “When we considered the possibility of debuting on PC, we took a look at our catalog and we realized that Uncharted’s beautiful international adventures could be the most natural way to introduce ourselves to gamers all over the world. Now, you may be wondering why we didn’t start with the original Uncharted. We felt that even though the first three adventures stand the test of time from a narrative point of view, they would have required major graphical improvements in order not to disfigure with modern productions and to respect the expectations of the players “.
The graphic re-adaptation of the games in the Nathan Drake Collection, therefore, would have required an excessive amount of work which, quite simply, Naughty Dog has chosen not to embark on it. What do you think? While you’re at it, find out how Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy fare on PC.
