Just one month after the release of the first big update for Windows 11, a new, small but long-awaited update is already available and it brings one of the most long-awaited features since Windows has been around.
While waiting for Windows 12, Microsoft is tweaking Windows 11
A few days ago, October 14 to be precise, during Microsoft’s annual conference dedicated to innovation, the famous Ignite 2022, the very first screenshot of Microsoft’s next big project for the next two years appeared. , namely Windows 12.
If no official info came out of there, a lot of elements are present on the screen that our colleagues from Windows Central obtained. First, we think of the new taskbar, removable and transparent, but also a small search bar at the top of the screen and finally, the display in the upper corners of the screen a number of information inspired by our smartphones, such as the weather, date, time, Wi-Fi or battery.

But for now, what interests us today is the brand new update for Windows 11 stamped 22621.675 also named “Moment 1” by Microsoft.
Windows 11 Moment 1 significantly improves the user experience
At the time of the big 22H2 update, Microsoft had warned that it would be necessary to regularly rely on patches deployed on a case-by-case basis (to fill bugs or flaws for example), but also on certain more important updates, the famous “ Moment”.
And while Moment 2 is not expected before the first quarter of 2023, without further details on its date or its content, Moment 1 is already here, only 4 weeks after the release of Windows 11 22H2.
And if this update was eagerly awaited, it is that it finally has a feature that has been conspicuously absent for years, namely thetabs in file explorer. We’ve only had it since this morning but we can’t live without it. No more third-party software such as Explorer++, Multi Commander, etc.
The tabs are here!!
For operation, nothing special, it works like on any browser, a little “+” to open a new tab and you’re done.
Among the other novelties brought by Moment 1, we note the presence of a contextual menu (the famous right-click) more extensive or better management of applications on the taskbar.
