During a special event to unveil its new high-end smartphones, Xiaomi directly brought the possibility to users who so wish to pre-order said flagships, namely the 12T and 12T Pro. They are now available for purchase.
Xiaomi is undoubtedly one of the market players that unveils the most smartphones in the year. We were first treated to the different models of Redmi Note 11, then to a few Poco brand phones scattered here and there, to finally welcome the flagships of the year 2022: the 12 and 12 Pro. However, the high-end series of the Chinese brand is now expanding with two new references to be added to the catalog. These are the Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro, more affordable than their elders, but even more premium than the latter are.

The Xiaomi 12T Pro: the smartphone with a 200 megapixel sensor
The Xiaomi 12T Pro is obviously the more sophisticated of the two references recently unveiled by the famous Chinese manufacturer. Indeed, it simply boasts of being the first smartphone to integrate a 200 megapixel photo sensor, for even sharper and more detailed shots, especially at night and with fast focusing, according to the brand. Alongside this, the photo module adds two other lenses: an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle and a 2-megapixel macro. If we can regret the absence of a telephoto lens for versatility at the level of the competition, we can still be reassured about the various possibilities in photos, and even in video since the 12T Pro is capable of filming in 8K. For selfies, there is a 20-megapixel sensor.

To continue with premium features, it also allows itself to integrate Qualcomm’s most powerful chip in 2022, namely the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is accompanied by 8 GB of RAM, in order to ensure optimal performance at the daily, whether in the Android 12-based MIUI 13 user interface or resource-intensive mobile games. And to add more fluidity to all that, the 6.67-inch screen (20:9 format) is OLED with a definition of 2,712 x 1,220 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, not to mention HDR10+ compatibility. and Dolby Vision. In short, all your multimedia content will simply be magnified.
Xiaomi 12T: the smartphone of compromises
The Xiaomi 12T has some common points with the Pro version, going from the design to the screen which is identical, as is the autonomy. Indeed, the two smartphones offer a large 5,000 mAh battery which could last well for 2 days if the optimizations are well done. They also share the same 120W fast charging system, the same as on the 11T Pro, which allowed to go from 0 to 100% in just 17 minutes. However, neither is compatible with wireless charging.

The differences from the classic 12T are mainly in terms of photography and performance. Indeed, the photo module accommodates a 108 megapixel sensor, already very powerful for capturing good quality shots, even if the night results will obviously be less convincing than on the 12T Pro. Then the processor comes this time from MediaTek, the Dimensity 8100-ultra, an improved version of the chip found on the Poco X4 GT, which promises very good performance, at least enough to run all 3D games fully, as well as having no lag even when using multitasking.
