To the surprise of fans of the series, Bandai Namco officially announced the Nintendo Switch and PC versions of Digimon World: Next Order! These ports will be handled by the HYDE team, who have already worked on Digimon Survive. The announcement was also accompanied by a video trailer that also revealed the release date of the game.
For those unfamiliar with it, Digimon World: Next Order is an RPG released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in 2017. The title sees the protagonist, a digipedelto, embark on a journey to restore the digital world to peace after the attacks by Machinedramon.
Along the way, players will be able to collect more than 200 different digimon, accompanied by two companions whose contribution will be strongly based on the relationship of trust established with them. The title also presents a more managerial section, with the city of Floatia that will be upgradeable with new constructions and buildings according to your preferences, becoming a real digimetropolis.
In our Digimon World: Next Order review, we described the title as a good homage to the first chapter of the series, albeit with a ‘weak’ storyline and sometimes cumbersome gameplay. In our opinion, Next Order is presented as a production designed especially for the historical fans of the franchise.
We conclude the news by informing you that the new versions of Digimon World: Next Order will be released on February 22, 2023.
