October 20th, 2022 at 12:02 pm by Philipp Sattler – After Torbjörn and Bastion had already been removed from the game or some modes, the Junkertown map from Overwatch 2 has now also disappeared. But she should return together with the heroes in the next update.
The problems of the first season of Overwatch 2 just don’t want to stop. After umpteen heroes disappeared temporarily and Torbjörn was deactivated in the meantime and the developers even threw Bastion out of the game, there is now the next serious bug. Some elements of the Junkertown map caused graphical complications, which dragged performance down and sometimes made it impossible to play.
Instead of quickly throwing hotfixes on the server with a hot needle, the developers chose the same path as with the broken heroes and removed the map from the game without further ado. Although distant isn’t quite right. Junkertown has been disabled in all official game modes with auto-grouping, similar to Torbjorn. In self-created games, however, you can still wreak havoc in Junkertown.

Overwatch 2: Oops, Blizzard accidentally releases first PvE maps
Overwatch 2’s PvE mode won’t be released until next year, which is 2023. But you can already look at some of the PvE maps.
Return already planned
However, Junkertown will probably not remain deactivated for too long. The developers are already working behind the scenes to resolve the issue and are currently aiming for the card to return on October 25th. The next update is scheduled to take place on this day.
This should not only bring Junkertown back into play, but also the lost heroes Torbjörn and Bastion. The problems of the two heroes are also being worked on in the background. What the solutions for the two will look like, however, remains unclear for the time being.
Here is Blizzard’s official post:
Hiya folks,
We have temporarily disabled Junkertown in all queues queues due to a bug that was causing graphic performance issues. Our goal is to re-enable the map, along with Torbjorn and Bastion, with our next planned update on October 25th
Our apologies for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued support
We’re curious to see if the Blizzard developers are slowly getting the problems under control. Otherwise they’ll soon have to push the next “sorry goodies” after them, as they did once before. In addition, they run the risk that frustrated players will turn away from Overwatch 2 and, if in doubt, will not come back.
