Last Wednesday (19), Konami finally heeded fan requests and revived the Silent Hill franchise through the announcement of new games and a movie.
Among the news is a remake of the acclaimed Silent Hill 2, which will be released as a temporary exclusive on PS5 and PC. While the game still doesn’t have an exact release date, its Steam page has already revealed the minimum and recommended requirements for playing it on PC and many were surprised.
Rumors had been circulating for a long time that Konami was working on a remake of Silent Hill 2, a game that tells the story of James Sunderland, who receives a letter from his late wife and ends up in the macabre city of Silent Hill, where countless horrors and a hideous mystery unfold. This week, the rumors were finally confirmed and fans can’t wait for the release.
If you want to play it on PC, you better prepare yourself as the technical requirements are pretty high. See below for the list revealed by the game’s Steam page.
Requires a 64-bit processor and OS OS: Windows 10 x64 Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 | AMD Ryzen 3 3300X Memory: 12GB RAM Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 5700 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 DirectX: Version 12 Storage: 50GB Free Space Sound Card: Windows Compatible Audio Device Additional Notes: Play with minimum requirements should allow low/medium quality settings to FullHD (1080p) with a stable 30 FPS.
Considering that it will still take a while for the launch to happen, it is possible that the development team will be able to optimize the game more to reduce the technical requirements a little.
