One of the great mysteries of the gaming industry for at least the past year, the prediction of whether Konami will indeed return to the Silent Hill series or not has never received a definite answer. The gigantic gaming events have passed and not a single moment has been used by Konami, leaving a strong sense of pessimism that this popular survival horror franchise will indeed return. But suddenly that hope came back when Konami announced a separate showcase just to talk about Silent Hill. A showcase that ends satisfactorily.
The mystery has finally been solved with good news, that Konami is indeed working on a remake project for Silent Hill 2. No kidding, the veteran horror developer – Bloober Team, who is famous for the series The Medium and Layers of Fear, is trusted to handle this one game. The first trailer released shows a re-enactment and modernization of various locations and iconic moments of the original series, which now also involves a performance capture process on it. Silent Hill 2 Remake is also certain to use an over the shoulder camera point of view instead of being fixed like the previous series.
Silent Hill 2 Remake itself is planned to be released for Playstation 5 and PC, but still without a definite release window at all. What do you think? Looks interesting?
