Most interestingly, Murata management blames the behavior of Chinese consumers for such a reduction in demand. After lockdowns in the spring and summer in the Chinese domestic market, the demand for smartphones has not started to grow. For various reasons, it is not so easy for Chinese smartphone manufacturers to find a market for their products outside of China. Now there is macroeconomic uncertainty, and if during periods of relative stability, consumers could change smartphones to new ones even if there were no significant advantages in their functionality, now everyone is just saving money, as the head of Murata explained. According to him, the demand for smartphones will not recover until the spring of next year, at least, although this may happen much later.
