20.10.2022 at 11:00 a.m. by Sebastian Glanzer – The new rules against gambling came into force on Twitch.tv on October 18, 2022. Appropriately, those responsible for the live streaming page explain again what is allowed and what is not. Gambling streamers do not have to expect severe penalties for the time being.
After those responsible for Twitch announced the first plans for how the live streaming platform would take action against gambling in the future, many users were disappointed. Because the rules were rather lax and left loopholes for slots streamers. It was still possible to gamble on US sites with the necessary licenses.
However, in a new blog post, Twitch is once again tightening the rules that have been in effect since October 18, 2022. The sites stake.com, rollbit.com, duelbits.com and roobet.com have been banned from the platform since September. But now all associated domains of this and similar sites are to be banned. Streamers are also prohibited from sharing a referral code via chat, a banner or verbally directing viewers to one of the dice game sites. Otherwise there are severe penalties.
Here’s how Twitch will penalize gambling streamers
“As with all of our policies, if these prohibited sites are streamed, your account may be suspended,” Twitch explains in the blog post
“We know this may be a transition for some and in certain cases we will issue warnings in addition to bans to be fairer to streamers who may not yet understand the change.” Hard penalties are not yet pronounced directly.

Gambling streamers will be given a grace period to get used to the new rules. However, anyone who takes it to the extreme must expect a ban. It is still unclear whether the topic of sports betting will also be addressed. Since the parent company Amazon recently signed a lucrative contract with the sports betting site Draft Kings, the chances of a sports betting ban are slim.
