20.10.2022 at 09:00 by Philipp Sattler – In the first raid of WoW: Dragonflight, the vault of the incarnations, a lot of loot is waiting for us again. Including a special category of items. The “Very Rare” items drop very rarely and at the same time are significantly stronger than other loot. Raise your hands if you don’t immediately feel reminded of “Titanium Forged”.
In terms of loot from raids or dungeons, the WoW developers have tried quite a few things over the past 18 years. From normal items to tokens, tokens, bonus throws, warforged items to weapon beads, we had to deal with countless systems. Most of them eventually disappeared and now only exist in our memories.
Especially things like Warforged and the later Titanforged are mostly negatively remembered by us players. Originally brought into play to give more rewards to the 25 raids, they later caused you to have to chase your BiS gear for months because the best items had a low drop chance. With WoW (Buy Now): Dragonflight, this system now returns in a way. In the form of the “Very Rare” items.

Four special items
In the Vault of Incarnations there are four items that have a higher item level than the remaining loot from the respective boss. These items are even divided into a separate category in the adventure guide, the eponymous section “Very Rare”. These items also have a bonus effect, so they should be significantly better than all the alternatives.
So far, only four “Very Rare” items have been implemented in WoW: Dragonflight. . Source: buffed In practice, there are items that are better than other items, but in return have a much lower chance of dropping. Although the difference in Dragonflight is “only” six item levels, the whole thing is strongly reminiscent of the old mechanics of war- and titanium-forged. However, Blizzard explicitly points out in an earlier Blue Post that it is NOT titanium forged. Because here not all items get more item level by chance, but there are special and previously known items of some bosses.
Everyone can decide for themselves whether this is really something completely different or the same thing in a different packaging. In any case, the intentions that Blizzard is pursuing (more excitement with front bosses that are otherwise uninteresting & more long-term motivation in the raid) sound the same as those mentioned when Titanforged was introduced. However, we may still see adjustments here. After all, it’s still beta. And even if the pre-patch is imminent, it will still be some time before the WoW: Draognflight raid opens its doors.
