The Capcom team is hard at work finalizing the development of the Resident Evil 4 remake, which will be available in stores on March 24, 2023 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. As part of an event, new gameplay material from the horror game has now been shared with fans. However, a change was also revealed that is currently making the fans of the series sad. It’s about a dog that players were actually able to save in the original version from 2005.
Help from Leon is too late
In the remake, Capcom probably doesn’t want to give you a choice anymore. The four-legged friend can no longer be freed from the bear trap. Leon S. Kennedy – the game’s protagonist – is not fast enough and only finds the dog dead. One leg is still caught in the bear trap. It is also clear that it is without a doubt the dog that also appears in the original. Fans are currently posting in Internet their sympathy and already miss the companion.
Dog influenced the story
In fact, later in the original, the decision to rescue the dog from the bear trap also impacted a certain point in the game. If you save the four-legged friend, he will distract the next boss and make the fight easier. If you leave the dog behind at the beginning, the boss is also much more difficult. IGN edited the two scenes together in a video on Twitter.
