It was last September that WhatsApp announced a new feature that has long been desired by users of the platform. This is the Call Links feature that allows group calls, with or without video, with a maximum of 32 people.
Group calls are accessible via a link which, in turn, is available for up to 90 days for all parties. This feature will be available to all users with an account on the chat platform, but can only be used on a smartphone.
If you try to activate the feature on WhatsApp Web, the application informs you about this limitation and provides you with several options to make a group call via your mobile terminal, giving you a new link and a QR code.
To check if the new feature is already available on your account, open the WhatsApp application on your smartphone and navigate to the “Calls” option. If you already have the functionality available, you will find the option “Create call link” at the top top. Then just use the generated link to send it to your contacts.
The process is pretty straightforward, yet the new WhatsApp feature falls a little short of other video calling platforms like Zoom and Google Meet. These two services provide video calls with up to 100 people at no additional cost.

Meanwhile, other news related to WhatsApp reports that the platform is testing the use of avatars in the application. The information is being advanced by the WABetaInfo website, which states that in the beta version for Android 22.214.171.124 it is already possible to try out the functionality.
The information provided by the aforementioned website explains that after the user configures an avatar, WhatsApp generates a set of stickers obtained through the instructions given. These stickers are avatar images created to express emotions.
For now, the feature is only available in the aforementioned beta version of the app, and the date of when it will be made available to all users is unknown.
