Halo Infinite’s Forge mode sets almost no limits to the creativity of the players, as this replica of Zelda Ocarina of Time clearly proves.
Halo Infinite’s Forge mode will be released in November and will allow players to create their own maps. There are already projects that are created with Forge.
The YouTuber Red Nomster presents in a video (below) a replica of the Kokiri Forest from Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Red Nomster emphasizes that he is presenting his project as a showcase, since it is not just a visual replica, but presents new ways of interacting that were previously not possible in Halo with the Forge mode.
First there is an overview of the lovingly designed grounds and “Links” a detailed replica of the room. He was even able to implement the fairy navigation system, including interaction, which gives a small task, similar to the original Zelda. So it goes on to a puzzle area.
Red Nomster always gives small hints at the beginning that he uses tricks to achieve certain effects. Now the first thing to do is look for the Kokiri sword, a “rolling stone” puzzle has to be overcome, the sword is then of course a particle sword in Halo style.
The representation of the lake and waterfall is particularly impressive, because there is currently no water in Forge!
“Please add water 343, it would make my life so much easier,” comments Red Nomster
Nevertheless, he managed to create the visual impression of a flowing body of water with algae and fish. The tour takes you to the Kokiri Shop, which he is particularly proud of – the shelves are equipped with the right items, such as the iconic Zelda heart.
The design of the houses is partly incomplete, but the many fine details in the area are worth seeing. In addition, the entrance to the lost forests with a teleport function was shown. Not all areas are currently fully designed, there are many details that he would like to work out further. From minute 11:15 it gets interesting for those who want to know more about the implementation, because now it goes into the details of how the map was created and which tools and rules were used.
Check out the project for yourself, as soon as the Forge mode is released, Red Nomster wants to release the map as well.
