The gameplay trailer of the Resident Evil 4 remake has fully convinced the players, but there is a detail that has saddened some of those who have also played the original. No, it’s not about the graphics or gameplay mechanics, it’s about a dog.
If you remember well, in the early stages of the 2004 cult Leon ran into a dog trapped in a bear trap. At that point the player could bend down to free him, then guaranteeing his help in a subsequent boss battle. Well, in the remake things will be different: as you can see in the comparison video offered by IGN USAin the new version of Resident Evil 4 Leon comes too late, finding the poor dog already dead. The news has predictably shocked even the curator of the famous Twitter account “Can You Pet the Dog?”, Which between the serious and the jokingly keeps users informed about digital dogs that can be stroked in video games. “What the f ***” was his brief but unequivocal comment.
Why did Capcom make this change? According to some, it’s possible that he did this to make the game even darker: the arrival of the dog to the rescue, in one of the most beautiful scenes of the game, gave Leon a sense of hope and gratitude that apparently will not be able to feel in the Remakeunless the Osaka house has thought of something different.
Resident Evil 4 Remake, remember, will be released on PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC on March 24, 2023. Have you already taken a look at the Standard, Deluxe and Collector’s editions?
