Samsung has launched another novelty for those who want to take the best photographs. It’s called Camera Assistant and it allows us to optimize the camera of our Samsung Galaxy smartphone to the maximum. Unlike the Expert RAW application, which only works on some high-end devices, this one is available for several smartphones.
Camera Assistant: Control Samsung Galaxy Camera
In practice, Camera Assistant is a module that can be installed from the Galaxy Store. You can find it here. Once we’ve installed it, it’s available in the settings menu. From that moment on we will be able to customize our camera much more deeply.
Right from the start we can enable or disable Auto HDR. This can come in handy in some situations.
However, we can also activate the photo smoothing function. This ends up smoothing edges so that everything looks more professional.
The other thing that can be turned on or off is automatic lens shifting. So the smartphone can choose the best lens based on zoom, lighting and object distance or let us do everything manually.
In addition to these features, we can activate the video recording mode in photography mode and make the shutter faster. This last function is disabled from the start and honestly it’s better that it stays that way. It’s just that the shutter gets faster since to speed it up it’s necessary to capture fewer frames. So this can lead to a reduction in the quality of the photographs.
However, at any time we can use the three-dot menu in the upper right corner to reset settings.
Samsung Good Lock
All of this is part of Samsung’s Good Lock app. If you’ve never heard of this, I can tell you that it consists of a set of several modules that allow you to change the appearance and operation of everything. From the navigation buttons and icons to the quick settings panel, recent apps menu and many other things. These modules also expand functionality on Galaxy devices.
