It seems that Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer have not managed to break into the hearts of Steam players. As shown by SteamBD over the past weekend Uncharted: Collect the Legacy of Thieves attracted only 10,851 peak players, a significantly low number when compared to the figures achieved by the other PlayStation exclusives available on Valve’s platform. Just think that Marvel’s Spider-Man debuted on Steam peaking around 66,000 players and God of War managed to reach 73,000. Passed negatively too Day’s Gone which only registered 27,000 players.
One of the main reasons behind the lack of interest shown in this new Uncharted collection is certainly the period in which the games made their debut on PC. Indeed, these are weeks full of rather anticipated releases like Gotham Knights, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. These are just some of the major stocks that make this period one of the richest of the year.
Secondly, another big minus of Uncharted: Collecting the Legacy of Thieves is its own the contents that this package offers. Steam players can only play the two final chapters of the saga, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. In addition, the two titles available are also “old” games as they were released in 2016 and 2017. Finally, last but not least, we must remember that the PC port of this collection has had a rather troubled gestation. Precisely for this reason, interest in it may have faded over time.
Despite the poor results obtained, Naughty Dog has confirmed that the arrival of Uncharted and The Last of Us on PC is only the beginning. The company has in fact admitted that it will continue to bring current and future projects to this platform as well.
