Halloween is fast approaching, so it’s the season for movies, horror games, or various celebrations and events dedicated to the party. Among all that can be found horrifying at the moment, there is a certain Terrifier 2, which is causing a stir in the United States.
Terrifier: a slasher series on the way to becoming cult?
In 2017, Damien Leone released a certain Terrifier in the cinema, giving birth to a new icon, Art the Clown. The pitch is relatively simple, since it features several female characters trying to escape the killer, who takes a certain pleasure in mutilating his targets. Gore, graphic, brutal and frightening, the film had known some successalthough it was only released in the United States.
Five years later, and with $250,000 budget generated on IndiegogoDamien Leone did it again with Terrifier 2. The film marks the return of Art the Clown, and focuses a bit more on the characters, which had been criticized for the first feature film. Starring Lauren LaVera, Elliott Fullam, Sarah Voigt, Kailey Hyman, Casey Harnet, and David Howard Thorton, Terrifier 2 is out. in over 700 US theaters on October 6th.
5 million dollars, and vomiting!
And we can say that the success is there, since the film generated over $5 million at the Box Office. The film should be released on DVD and Blu-Ray in the United Kingdom, but no screening is planned in France or elsewhere for the moment. Be that as it may, the film is widely talked about, and far beyond its qualities to slash. Indeed, Terrifier 2 is best known for causing fainting, vomiting, and quitting rooms. Several testimonies go in this direction on Twitter.
My friend passed out and the theater called an ambulance. Warmly recommended.
Another network user indicates that he had just seen Terrifier 2, which he considers incredible. He said in passing that the guy behind him “passed out and slumped in my chair, and another guy left because he wasn’t feeling well and, coming out of the cinema, (he) heard a guy puke loudly in the toilet.” Reactions that intrigued the public who think that it’s all a marketing maneuver similar to what we have seen on other horror films. Yet the director swears that everything is true :
To everyone saying that reports of people fainting and puking during screenings of Terrifier 2 is a marketing ploy, I swear on the success of the film it is NOT. These reports are 100% legit. I wish we were smart enough to think of that! 😋 But then again we didn’t need to😉

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the director said having people dating is a form of reward because he made an “intense” film. However, he did not want people to faint or get hurt during the screening. Terrifier 2 producer Steve Barton responded by posting a cautionary message on social media:
This film contains violent, explicit and brutal scenes. Those with weak hearts, who are prone to feeling unwell or who have weak stomachs are advised to exercise extreme caution. For those who choose to go anyway, you have been warned.
No information has been given about a possible release in the rest of the world. The film’s success could make distributors think twice, but nothing is certain, and no discussion has officially been launched.
