The Free Range Games team and the publisher North Beach Games held a new video presentation in livestream where they illustrated various news on The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moriathe new game centered on JRR Tolkien’s books, from which others have come details and new imagestra screenshot e artwork.
The game was announced last June as a survival set in the world of The Lord of the Rings, which in itself already makes it particularly interesting.
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is inserted in the Fourth Age of Middle-earth, making a particular picture on the history of the dwarf civilization, as it focuses in particular on Moria.
Summoned to the Misty Mountains by Lord Gimli Lockbearer, players take control of one company of dwarves charged with reclaiming the ancient ruins of their native land of Moria, known as Khazad-dûm or Dwarrowdelf, deep in the mountainous area.
It is a perilous mission, which requires great courage and endurance, given that it is a question of going deeper and deeper into the mines of Moria and recover treasures and secrets hidden in the bowels of the mountains. Within these iconic ruins, built following the official lore of books and more traditional illustrations, players must work together to survive, including combat, crafting and dynamic survival.
With the mine structure being procedurally generated, players must explore and gather resources, discover artifacts and reactivate old dwarven technology to build and evolve a base from which to explore new stages, all in cooperative multiplayer.
There is no release date yet but in the meantime we can see some images between the first screenshots and artwork in the gallery on this page and the video of the livestream staged in the past few hours, above, while we refer you to the special on what we know of the survival of The Lord of the Rings.
