It is rather unusual for a graphics card manufacturer to increase the selection of graphics cards from the old generation after launching a new generation of GPUs. Not only is the new Geforce RTX 3060 with 8 GB instead of 12 GB graphics memory already available for purchase. With new editions of the RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti, Nvidia is expanding the range even further – more on that below. The biggest price reduction can be seen in a weekly comparison for the new RTX 4090, where stock goods are now available for 2,249 euros, as our market overview of the cheapest Geforce offers shows.
How are the Geforce prices developing in a weekly comparison?
While the prices for entry-level and mid-range graphics cards in the Geforce series remain stable or fall slightly, the prices for the RTX 3090 and Geforce RTX 3090 Ti are even rising again. On the other hand, you can currently buy the new top graphics card RTX 4090 for only 2,349 euros, while a week ago you had to pay around 300 euros more. However, the stock of the Geforce RTX 4090 is still quickly sold out, which is why we continue to inform you regularly about the availability of the RTX 4090 in a separate article.

New versions of the RTX 3060, 3060 Ti and 3070 Ti: That’s behind it
Nvidia has revised some models of the RTX 3000 series and is sending them into the race with other memory configurations, expansions and GPUs. The Geforce RTX 3060, RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti are affected. Although Nvidia has now introduced the Ada Lovelace architecture in the form of the Geforce RTX 4090 and soon the Geforce RTX 4080, Ampere is still an important architecture for it Company. Although most of the models below were released a long time ago, there are now refresh versions with changed specifications that differ from Nvidia’s original models. There are currently new or changed models of the Geforce RTX 3060, the RTX 3060 Ti and the RTX 3070 Ti. The former card is also the model that has seen the biggest changes for users. Previously, the RTX 3060 shipped with a GA106 GPU and 12 GiB of VRAM on a 192-bit wide bus. Nvidia has now introduced a model with only 8 GiB VRAM attached to a 128-bit bus – it can already be found in our Geforce market overview. Interestingly, however, it remains with the same 3,584 CUDA cores as the 12 GiB model. The RTX 3050, which is ranked below, also offers 8 GiB graphics memory, but with 2,560 or 2,304 CUDA cores it keeps a respectful distance from the new RTX 3060. The first custom designs have already been presented by Colorful and correspond to the manufacturer’s previous designs.
