Since the announcement of its postponement at the very beginning of July, Forspoken has been rather discreet. A rather surprising finding for one of Square Enix’s big AAAs, but the publisher knows how to take care of its communication around the game, as evidenced by this new excerpt which offers us a fluid and magical dive into the very heart of one of the best arguments of the title, namely its freedom of movement. Thanks to this video, we discover more about what allows Frey to excel in the art of parkour!

The next-gen outcast gets “Frey” a way into the news
The news of the postponement was certainly disappointed, but all this was necessary to ensure the title the best possible development. On the side of Square Enix and the teams of Luminous Productions, we want Forspoken to appear in its best light during its official launch. and, until now, the extracts that we had the chance to discover seemed to promise us a twirling and explosive titleas we saw during the State of Play last March, packed with hard-hitting combat and, icing on the cake, loading time of an infinitesimal duration on PS5.
Despite its assets, players are not particularly tender with the new production of the Japanese publisher, as evidenced by one of its recent communication choices who served more to amuse the gallery on social networks that has fully convinced the crowd. However, these taunts did not last because The prophesied was able to bounce back quickly, whether thanks to a new trailer or at an interview with the developers returning to some specific aspects of the title. Speaking of which, Forspoken made another leap into the news today to give us a little magical parkour session!
Athia, the ideal place to practice parkour!
If we have seen Frey’s exploits in expressing his talents in the art of parkour in the past, PlayStation and Square Enix offer us a new glimpse of the freedom offered by The prophesied in terms of mobility. In the video of the day (available at the top of the article), we discover the eight forms of parkour that the young woman suddenly acquires when she is caught up in the mystical lands of Athia. To cross these vast environments, Frey will therefore be able to count on the “Flow”, the “Rush”, the “Shimmy”, the “Float”, the “Glide”, the “Zip”, the “Soar” and the “Scale”. all discussed in more detail in this unpublished excerpt.
The first step to mastering one’s powers will therefore be to learn how to manage one’s “Flow”, i.e. one’s ability to move at full speed through the scenery while keeping an eye on his stamina reserve. In this spirit, the “Rush” will allow him to keep this flow while giving it a stamina recharge to then rush faster towards certain elements that can trigger the “Shimmy”, a sort of magical impulse to cover greater distances without expending stamina ! In addition to that, Frey’s powers play with everything, including the laws of physics thanks to the “Float”, which allows him to land gently when she jumps from a disproportionate height, or the “Glide”, which allows her to slide on water.
As we can see, coupled with magic, Frey’s parkour abilities have no limit and, like the “Zip”, can also allow him access inaccessible places to ordinary mortals than get out of dangerous situations in the face of monsters. The “Soar” allows Frey to offer more verticality to his skills of parkour while the “Scale” generates a great impulse allowing him to gain height but also to counter his enemies. With it all in hand, all you have to do is combine them and improve them (with the help of many challenges to develop the talent tree) to complete Frey’s quest smoothly!
