From November 1, refugees from Ukraine in the Netherlands must have a special stamp in their passport or an O-document to confirm receipt of temporary protection status.
The corresponding decision is published on the website of the Dutch government.
A special sticker in the passport will be proof that Ukrainians live in the Netherlands on the basis of the EU Temporary Protection Directive and thus have access, among other things, to the labor market.
Since the laws of the Netherlands provide for the employment of foreigners only if the employer obtains permission, a special simplified procedure was developed for Ukrainian refugees in the spring.
From April 1, employers could hire Ukrainians without obtaining permits. During this period, Ukrainians had the opportunity to issue all the necessary documents. This transition mechanism ends on 31 October.
The passport stamp or O-document is issued by the Dutch Immigration and Naturalization Service (Immigratie-en Naturalisatiedienst, IND). For their registration, you need to contact the department before October 31.
