In the past few days it has been revealed that Sony is creating a new PlayStation team that would also be involved Naughty Dog e Visual Arts Groupthe latter known for having contributed to the development of The Last of Us Parte I.
Details on this project had emerged from a job advertisement released by the Japanese giant himself, looking for a Senior Designer. Now comes further details from another signed job offer Sony Interactive Entertainment and always connected to the new studio PlayStation who would be based in San Diego, California and would be looking for a Game Design Intern. The text shows how the new team “is currently developing an exciting new project with Naughty Dog based on a much loved franchise”.
No clue clearly as to which series is at the heart of this game, which in any case will be a already known brand and not an unpublished IP. Considering the involvement of Visual Arts in addition to the “cagnacci” in this new studio, it is natural to think of the discarded remake of Uncharted Drake’s Fortune: according to the old report by Jason Schreierin fact, Visual Arts had proposed a modern remake of the first adventure of Nathan Drakebut the idea was quickly discarded by Sony as it was deemed too expensive to make.
It is difficult to say if there has been an afterthought and it is therefore the remake of the first Uncharted, or instead a completely different project. All that remains is to wait for concrete updates from Sony in the near future.
