Thanks to the release of the next-gen versions at the beginning of 2022 and, above all, to the great success of the TV series Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Cyberpunk 2077 is back in the spotlight, gaining much more acclaim and success after the difficult post-launch period in December 2020.
Among the most recent achievements, the latest reviews on Steam of Cyberpunk 2077 are all very positive, and therefore carry on the trend of renewed popularity currently enjoyed by the adventure of V through the streets of Night City. And according to the president of CD Projekt RED, Adam Kicinskihe managed to change completely the user’s attitude towards the game.
Kicinski confirms that today there is “a completely different level of player interest” than what we have seen in the last couple of years, thanks to the efforts made by the authors to change the perception of their production and thus allow players to live. the experience offered by Cyberpunk 2077 in a completely different way. In addition to acknowledging the undeniable positive impact Cyberpunk Edgerunners had, the president specifically mentions all continuous updates and improvements made by CD Projekt RED to perfect the work (including the patch 1.5 e 1.6considered crucial for this change of perception), culminating with the arrival of the next-gen versions, a factor “perhaps less visible, but certainly no less important”.
“We are on track to reverse the feelings around Cyberpunk 2077 and thus fight for excellent long-term results,” concludes Kicinski. And with Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty in the final phase of development, it cannot be excluded that the popularity of the title will grow further thanks to the expansion expected for 2023.
