A unique situation surrounds the release of the latest generation of consoles, which is now entering its second year. Despite efforts to release as many products as possible into the market in the name of momentum, the complex situation surrounding the issue of the pandemic makes it impossible to do so. The closing of factories for various components is the cause of the scarcity of products, which in some markets where the Playstation 5 was officially released, even made Sony have to use the lottery system just to be able to buy it. However, with the improvement of existing production and distribution lines, Sony has managed to break a new milestone with this latest console.
Sony announced that the Playstation 5 finally managed to sell 25 million units in its fiscal year report ending September 30, 2022. This means that there are an additional 3.3 million Playstation 5 units added compared to the previous three months. Unfortunately, the Playstation Plus sector actually experienced a decline. Sony lost about 1.8 million users from 47.2 million users to around 45.4 million users when compared to the previous year’s performance.
Playstation 5 has sold more than 25 million units.
With stock now easy to get and the release of an exclusive game like God of War Ragnarok that will happen in a matter of weeks, it is not impossible that this number will skyrocket quickly in the next few months. How about you? Already have a Playstation 5?
