While free games with PS Plus in November become available for download on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, the management Sony presents the latest results achieved by the subscription service.
With the conclusion of the second quarter of fiscal year 2022-2023the Japanese giant has updated the data relating to public participation in the program PlayStation Plus. Apparently, however, the news is not too positive, with the service having lost about 2 million subscribers.
If in the first quarter of the fiscal year (April-June 2022), PS Plus had been able to count on 47.3 million players, now this figure is reduced to 45.4 million. The value is confirmed to be decreasing even if we look at the data for the fiscal year 2021-2022, which had recorded in the same period 47.2 million of subscribers a PlayStation Plus.
The reduction of the public, which takes the form of about 2 million fewer users for the Sony service, it translates into a similar trend also with regard to active players on PlayStation Network. I 102 million monthly active users it is in fact lower than both the 103 million of the last quarter and the 104 million of last year.
A declining trend, which, however, is largely evident compensated in terms of revenue: the revision of the prices of PlayStation Plus and the expansion of the offer has in fact translated into an influx of 117 million yen in the last quartercompared to 100 million yen the previous year.
