Dune: Spice Wars is a strategy game in real time with X4 elements made by Shiro Games, also authors of the acclaimed Northgard. Players will have to lead their own faction with the aim of controlling and dominating the hostile desert planet of Arrakis. To do so, they will be able to exploit subterfuge, political influence, economic supremacy or, if necessary, open warfare. Among the available factions we also find those of the house of Atreides and Harkonnen.
The game is available on PC in Early Access since the beginning of the year, immediately enjoying great success and the top of the Steam rankings. Dune: Spice Wars doesn’t have a specific launch date for PC Game Pass yet, but the movie is about “soon”, so it shouldn’t be too far off. In conjunction with the inclusion of the game in the service catalog, the substantial free update will be published “Sand and Air”which will include new gameplay features, drives and more, with more details to be shared shortly.
For more information on the game, we suggest you read our Dune: Spice Wars trial, in which we offer you our impressions of Shiro Games’ 4X:
“We liked Dune: Spice Wars. It is probably early to expose ourselves, but we were involved in its dynamics and how it reads Dune in a strategic key, without falling into simplified and mass formulas. We will see if the final version will confirm the good impressions we have had. so far, in the meantime we continue to play. ”
