Soul Hackers 2 apparently he is falling short of the expectations of Segawhich believes the sales of the JRPG of Atlus subdued compared to initial forecasts. On the other hand, the Japanese company expects a long commercial cycle for the game and therefore could get back on track in the long term.
Haruki Satomi and Koichi Fukazawa, Sega’s CEO and CFO respectively, declared this during a Q&A following the presentation of the financial report of the Japanese company. While not sharing precise sales figures, in their opinion the second installment of the Shin Megami Tensei spin-off series is “struggling to reach the expected sales levels”, but nevertheless they foresee that the game will be purchased in the long term.
For this reason Atlus intends to continue support the game for a long time, so as to expand future sales. The first major update of Soul Hackers 2 will arrive in November and will be free. It will introduce, among other things, four new demons and the “Dash” and “Quick Battles” features. From the words of the managers of Sega, therefore in the future we can expect further free updates in the future and who knows maybe even more full-bodied DLCs that expand the story. We’ll see.
Soul Hackers 2 is available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC. If you haven’t done so yet, we suggest you read our review of the Atlus JRPG.
