November 4th, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. by Sara Petzold – A few weeks before the official release of Dragonflight, the beta of the next WoW expansion is also entering its final phase: the developers have marked the current beta version as a release candidate. We explain to you in our news what that means exactly.
The pre-patch of WoW: Dragonflight has recently become available on the live servers of Blizzard’s online role-playing game and the release of the next WoW expansion is also slowly getting closer. So it’s not surprising that the developers have marked the current beta build of Dragonflight with version number 10.0.2 (46479) as a release candidate. But what exactly does that actually mean?
In the past, Blizzard has repeatedly published the final build as a so-called release candidate shortly before the official release of an update or a new WoW expansion. That is, this build corresponds to the game version as the developers ultimately want to release it on the live servers.

No more class changes before Dragonflight release (?)
Accordingly, there will be no more weekly beta builds until the release of Dragonflight. Changes that the developers still want to make before the release will most likely end up on the servers as hotfixes – but there shouldn’t be any more extensive updates.
However, this also means that fans should no longer expect changes based on feedback that the community is still bringing to the developers – at least not directly for the release of Dragonflight. This applies in particular to adjustments to the talents of individual classes that are currently the subject of disagreement within the community (e.g. in the case of the Guardian Druid, the Shadow Priest or the Beastmaster Hunter).

WoW: Dragonflight: Production of animal sets – Account-wide and associated with work
In WoW: Dragonflight we can craft animal set items again. However, this involves work, even if it is account-wide.
Of course, while this might cause frustration for some players concerned about the relevance of their class in the Dragonflight meta, it doesn’t mean those classes in question will stop receiving updates. It is entirely possible or likely that the developers will release an update with appropriate class changes based on community feedback immediately or shortly after the release of Dragonflight. We will of course keep you up to date on this.
