It so happened according to the calendar that within eight days Zorya has to play twice with clubs from Kharkiv. Last Friday, she defeated Metalist 1925, and next Saturday she will meet with the wards of Oleg Ratiya and Alexander Prizetko.
It seems that after some recession, when the Lugansk team could not succeed for a month, things improved for Zorya and Patrick van Leeuwen’s wards (pictured) won the last three matches with a total score of 8-0. Under the “hot hand” they got “Chernomorets” (4:0), “Veres” (1:0) and the already mentioned “Metalist 1925” (3:0).
As you can see, in these games the Lugansk team played well in defense, leaving their nets “dry”, and in the attack they showed quite high performance. At the moment, after 9 matches, Zorya has 20 goals scored (this is the second indicator after Dnipro-1). Nazariy Rusin and Igor Kiryukhantsev scored three times during this period, Dmitry Mishnev and Denis Bezborodko, who had already left the club, scored 2 goals, and ten different players scored the rest of the goals. Therefore, it is difficult for opponents to guess where the real threat may come from.
We should pay tribute to the Dutch coach, who found himself in a difficult situation, when three leading players left the team during the season (besides Bezborodko, Kabaev and Nazarina also left), managed to find additional reserves and stabilize the squad. Now Zorya is already in the top three of the championship and if they win in the upcoming match, they can further improve their standings in the tournament.
The Kharkiv team, if taken as a whole, had a good start in the tournament, gaining 4 wins in 9 matches and scoring 14 points. Moreover, knowing what problems they had to face in preparation for the season. By the way, there could have been more points, but in some cases Metalist could not keep their advantage, and in others they lost to their opponents with an absolutely equal game.
But what really should worry the coaching staff and the club’s management is the large number of deletions and warnings received by the players in past matches. In almost every second match (in 4 out of 9) one of the Metalist players saw a red card in front of them and another 21 times a yellow light was “lit up” in front of the Kharkiv team. It is for these reasons that Daniil Knysh and the team’s top scorer Maxim Pryadun, who has already scored 6 times in the opponents’ goal, will not be able to help their partners in the upcoming match with Zorya.
Of course, the absence of Pryadun will be a serious problem for the Kharkiv team in attack. But, on the other hand, there is a great opportunity to prove themselves to those players who are still in the shadows and have not yet shown themselves in the way that their coaches expect from them. And there is no doubt that Metalist will fight for points in this game.
Zorya and Metalist have met 24 times at the highest level of the Ukrainian Championship in different years. The advantage here is with the Kharkiv team, who won 13 victories. There were 7 draws and 4 wins against Zorya. The last time teams with such names played each other was seven years ago. November 22, 2015 in Kharkiv, the home team lost with a score of 0:1.
“Dawn”: Matsapura, Batagov, Imerekov, Butko, Danchenko, Churko, Brazhko, Buletsa, Kyryukhantsev, Rusyn, Nagnoiny
Metalist: Kostik, Kaplienko, Ralyuchenko, Mizyuk, Shopin, Tankovsky, Panasenko, Demchenko, Kartushov, Korkishko, Podlepenets.
Forecast for the confrontation:
Zorya will strive to continue its winning streak, which already has three matches in a row. Metalist will also try not to lose. Who will do it better, the game itself will show. We bet on a draw 1:1.
