ElAnalistaDeBits has published a video which compares the versions PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One e Nintendo Switch from Person 5 Royal. The Atlus JRPG already has several years on its shoulders, but nevertheless, according to the YouTuber’s analysis there are substantial differences in terms of performance and resolution to be taken into consideration if you are still undecided on which platform to play it.
Specifically, here’s Persona 5 resolution and framerate on all consoles:
Nintendo Switch: 900p and 30fps in docked mode, 720p and 30fps in portable mode (810p docked and 540p portable according to Digital Foundry)
PS4: 1080p e 30 fps
PS4 Pro: 2160p e 30 fps
Xbox One: 900p e 30 fps
Xbox One X: 2160p e 30 fps
Xbox Series S: 1080p e 60 fps
Xbox Series X: 2160p e 60 fps
PS5: 2160p e 60 fps
As we can see, the best console versions of Persona 5 Royal are clearly those PS5 and Xbox Series X, the only ones to reach both 4K resolution and 60 fps. On the other hand, the situation on Xbox Series S and One X is particular: the first reaches 60 fps but does not go beyond 1080p resolution, while the second on the contrary reaches 4K resolution but has a framerate locked at 30 fps. The framerate in general looks granite on all platforms in almost all situations.
Nintendo Switch for its part has the advantage of being a portable console, a feature that could make it the ideal console for playing Persona 5 Royal regardless of resolution and framerate. Another aspect to consider, albeit unrelated to performance, is that the game is included in the PC and Xbox Game Pass catalog.
And what version are you playing or planning to play Persona 5 Royal in the future? Let us know in the comments.
