It remains only to cross your fingers, because the latest Blizzard games do not need comments.
Aside from expansions, remasters, Classics, and other reforged titles, the Warcraft and StarCraft franchises have not evolved for eighteen and twelve years, respectively. Of course, the projects themselves in these franchises, namely World of Warcraft and StarCraft II, are still more alive than all the living, but gamers have long wanted to continue with their hearts, although they understand with their minds that in the realities of modern Blizzard they will most likely be expect disappointment.
The topic of whether to wait for new games in these cult real-time strategy series was touched upon in an interview with the head of the Microsoft gaming division, Phil Spencer, to Ars Technica. Spencer, who saw Microsoft begin its takeover of Activision Blizzard, slated for completion by July next year, didn’t rule out the possibility of a gamer’s dream come true.

As Spencer noted, the launch of StarCraft at one time was a turning point for both the gaming industry, including the modern approach to storytelling in RTS, and for the esports industry. According to him, he is immensely pleased to have the opportunity to communicate with all the constituent parts of the Activision Blizzard holding and discuss with their leaders possible directions regarding the existing game catalogs. Spencer did not speak directly about the possible releases of new StarCraft and Warcraft, while noting that, as a big fan of Blizzard’s strategies, he is delighted with the idea of how the future of these franchises might turn out in the new realities.
