Hardware news Are you waiting for your iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max? Apple has bad news for you

The American manufacturer Apple has just warned its customers: the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be late in the coming weeks. The company has a very simple explanation for this.
Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, which started in 2020, the new technologies industry has had to face a checkered situation with regard to the production of current high-tech devices. While supply conditions seemed to have improved lately, in practice this is not always the case. Apple is also in the process of paying the price.
The Cupertino company has just warned its buyers who are currently waiting to receive an iPhone 14 Pro or an iPhone 14 Pro Max: shipments will be delayedwhich should be counted on weekdays.
The production of iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max very reduced
The reason for this situation lies in China, as has often been the case since the start of the global health crisis. While a large number of countries have decided to reduce the constraints in the event of a proven case of Covid-19, China still keeps its “zero Covid” policy in place. As soon as a handful of cases are confirmed in a city, the latter is reconfigured, and its inhabitants with it. The problem is that at the moment, this drastic approach is not bearing fruit: Covid-19 cases are skyrocketing in different provinces of the country.
This leads to extended confinements, and therefore closures of assembly plants. Even in those that continue to operate, the production of devices is reduced, because workers are widely spaced from each other to reduce contamination. This concerns in particular the Foxconn factory located in Zhengzhou, which is in charge of manufacturing the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Foxconn is, however, trying to retain its workers directly within its factory: if they do not leave, they cannot contract the virus. However, many do not hesitate to flee by climbing the fences that surround the place. Even though Foxconn has decided to quadruple the daily wages of its employeesthis is not enough in the face of the fear of disease and the drastic detention conditions imposed by the country’s “zero Covid” policy.
Will there be iPhone 14s at Christmas? Apple responds
Apple’s communication reads: “As we have done throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, we are prioritizing the health and safety of workers in our supply chain. We continue to see strong demand for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. However, we now expect iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments to be lower than we previously anticipated and customers will experience longer wait times to receive their new products. We are working closely with our supplier to return to normal production levels while ensuring the health and safety of every worker. »
Currently, ordering an iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max gives an estimate of dispatch around December 6, i.e. a month’s delay. This period could be further extended in the future. This means that if you’re thinking of gifting or treating yourself to a high-end model from Apple for the holidays, you better order soon. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus should not be affected by the situationbecause they are manufactured in another factory.
