Infinity Ward has his say on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition Double XP Tokens. In a recent Twitter post the developers say that they understand that there has been some confusion surrounding the reward. So all players who order the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 2 via the in-game shops of the previous games should receive a double XP token as a bonus. For example, anyone who bought the special edition directly via Steam, PSN or the Xbox Games Store did not receive the exclusive reward. There were then increasing reports in forums and on Reddit that Infinity Ward and Activision had poorly communicated this exception.
XP tokens for all Vault Edition owners
Now it’s clear: All players who currently own the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 2 will subsequently receive a double XP token for ten hours – no matter where they bought the game. What’s more, as a small compensation, there’s a ten-hour token for double weapon XP on top. “We have decided to reward all players who own or purchase the Vault Edition with 10-hour Double XP and Double Weapon XP tokens,” Infinity Ward said. Current players should have already received their tokens over the past weekend.
