Still in pre-production
BioWare first announced in November 2020 that they were working on a new Mass Effect game with the release of a teaser trailer. At that time it was said that the project was in an early stage and that no more could be said.
In today’s N7-Day blog post, the studio confirms that the game is still in pre-production, so the launch will be a year or two away.
“Since we last talked about the next Mass Effect game, pre-production development has progressed very well,” it said. “The team, which includes veterans of the Mass Effect franchise as well as some amazing new additions to BioWare, has grown steadily.”
We’ve worked hard to create new characters and locations that fans will love. At the same time, however, components that players can remember should also be reactivated.
Gamble added, “One day when we’re ready we’ll have more to share about the next Mass Effect, so thank you for being a part of this journey with us. It is extremely exciting for the team and we look forward to continuing to share insights into what we are working on.”
