On Tuesday, November 8, in Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, the 1/16 final match of the English League Cup will take place, in which Bournemouth and Everton will play. The starting whistle of referee Darren England from Yorkshire will sound at 21:45 Kyiv time.
Bournemouth’s two seasons in the Championship were a rather agonizing wait, but last football year they managed to win silver medals in the country’s second-best division, thanks to which they were once again among the strongest teams in England. It remains only to understand what exactly the Cherries want to get from the current season, as they have already managed to say goodbye to Scott Parker, who ensured the rise to the top division, due to unsatisfactory results in August. Instead of a novice specialist, an even less experienced Gary O’Neill came, and it cannot be said that Bournemouth began to show football of a qualitatively different type.
In any case, under the guidance of a 39-year-old mentor, the team from Dorset, at least at the initial stage, got points, which they obviously did not get at the start of the campaign. However, if you look at the calendar, under Parker, the club, modest in financial appetites, opposed Arsenal and Manchester City, while the match against Liverpool (0:9) actually fired the then mentor.
At the same time, at this stage of the cup tournament, Bournemouth ended up only thanks to the victory over Norwich in the penalty shootout, and additionally beat Aston Villa in the championship. And was it worth it to remove the head coach in such conditions, if, as a result, in the last four matches against opponents of the level of difficulty from Southampton to Tottenham, the Cherries did not know any victories at all?
Frank Lampard in this context can be extremely grateful to the leadership of his club for the patience with which they endure each new unsuccessful series of Everton’s performances. At the start of the campaign, it seemed that the Toffees undertook to continue the series of failures, but then they gave out seven matches without defeat, among which was a cup meeting against the modest Fleetwood (1: 0). Shortly after a streak of successful performances, the Liverpool team stumbled on the calendar with Manchester United, Tottenham and Newcastle, and since then has not been able to find its game again.
The match against Leicester last weekend was somewhat revealing (0-2). Everton landed just two shots on target against opponents who, due to financial problems, were considered an absolutely hopeless team from the very start of the campaign. As a result, the position of the “toffees” in the standings worsened again, which also directly affects the perception of the game from the Ukrainian Vitaliy Mykolenko, who has already managed to become an integral part of Lampard’s team.
But this is the catch – Everton will have to play against Bournemouth at the weekend also in the championship, so there will be much more chances to see our compatriot there. Being knocked out of the Cup at such an early stage is not an attractive proposition, but in the current condition of Liverpool it is very difficult to predict their future after the end of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Forecast for confrontation
We believe that in the upcoming match, things can even go as far as a penalty shoot-out, but the guests will still go further. Our bet will be the position – the passage of Everton with a coefficient of 1.78 on the Parimatch line.
